They are a notification reminder on posts and threads for your personal use



This is how bookmarks works

First sort out your preferences:
What you have to do is this

Go into your Profile ... top of page
Click on Bookmarks.. its along the top

You will be taken to your bookmark page...look at the bottom of the page to see:-
Click on > Click here to Manage Your Bookmark Preferences

Use the combo box to make the choice of
1. No notification
2. Email
3. PM's

Then just hit the > Up Date Bookmarks & Preferences



If you choose > No notification.... you will not be notified if anyone posts on the thread you have clicked to Bookmark (be reminded if any one posts on that thread your watching)............ but it will be in your Profile under bookmarks and it will show if any new posts have been made, and you can just click on the thread there to go to it

If you choose > Email....you will be sent an email to notify you that someone has posted on that thread you are watching to see if any replies have been made... you will only get one email regarding this thread, not like the old days when you got multiply emails all about the same thread.. and until you click on and go to the thread you will not receive any more emails on that particular thread

If you choose > PM.... you will be sent a notice in your PM box, you will only get one for the thread.. and until you go to the thread you will not receive anymore PM's that anyone has posted on that thread
